The global impact of the boarding school mentality and our leaders
Panel:
- Nick Duffell: founder of Boarding School Survivors and author of The Making of Them; he has been involved in working with ex-boarders since 1990 and is the author of Wounded Leaders
- Martin Lloyd-Elliott: Chartered Psychologist and psychotherapist who coaches CEOs in the public and private sectors in Enlightened Leadership
- Zena Me: teacher, coach and constellator in the lost art of Eldership; she worked as a tutor on the High Performance Leadership Programme at the Cranfield School of Management.
Some of the questions we would like to explore are:
- Do some ex-boarding school leaders run their companies like boarding schools? What is the impact on the system?
- What is the importance of emotional intelligence in leadership?
- It is often said that leadership is all about relationships. And yet boarding school teaches us the opposite in the breaking of attachments. How have you seen that play out in the political and corporate sphere?
- How has this mentality affected the world in the past? And does it still affect the world?
