Boarding School Syndrome: Separations and the Repetition of Trauma in Adult Life
Professor Joy Schaverien PhD – Jungian Psychoanalyst/Psychotherapist
Training Analyst, Society of Analytical Psychology
Author of Boarding School Syndrome: The Psychological Trauma of the ‘Privileged’ Child
Joy Schaverien is a delight to listen to.
Joy’s talks are always much appreciated… She is empathetic and it is very affirming to hear a professional speak out on ‘how things actually were’.
Joy’s presentation kind of confirmed a lot of things that I had suspected but had not put them all together.
Guest speaker: Tom Greaves
Make them Laugh, Make them Listen
Actor and comedian Tom Greaves talks about the challenges and rewards of turning
his healing process into a piece of award-winning fringe theatre.
Tom’s performance gave a whole new angle to some boarding issues… His performance was both therapeutic and cathartic.
Tom’s presentation and acting/singing was outstanding: a very personal and uplifting story of healing which was truly inspiring.
Tom’s presentation was brilliant, entertaining and deeply moving… I laughed and cried spontaneously. A lovely authentic addition to the day.
